School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI)
12 months Free Internet for Eligible Students
Activ8me is proud to be a participating service provider in the Australian Government’s initiative to provide 12months of free internet to up to 30,000 unconnected families with school aged students.
The School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI) offers eligible students and their families 12 months of free internet at home. With this initiative, we are making it easier for more students to connect and access the tools they need to succeed in school.
We will provide 12 months of free internet, as well as a free modem/router, to eligible families who connect with us.
If you’ve received a voucher from a participating organisation (it’s a code starting with ‘LOC’), call Activ8me’s Sales team on 132288 to connect your free internet service today.
What’s Included in the Program?
- Free standard installation by an nbn® technician
- Free nbn® compatible modem/router (A TP-Link vx230v)
Our modems come preconfigured to your connection type, so all you need to do is plug it in!
- 12 months of free internet service
Depending on the nbn® technology available at your address, you will receive one of the following plans:
For nbn® Fibre addresses, free 12 months of ‘Supersonic’ nbn® 50/20 with an unlimited data allowance.
For nbn® Fixed Wireless addresses, free 12 months of nbn® Fixed Wireless PLUS+ with an unlimited data allowance.
For nbn® Sky Muster® satellite addresses, free 12 months of the nbn® Sky Muster Plus Unmetered 50 plan, which includes unmetered data use for all online activities other than video streaming and VPN use between 4pm and Midnight.
Who’s Eligible?
To be eligible for SSBI, families must:
- Have a child living at home that is enrolled in an Australian school (up to year 12 including Prep in Qld/Vic/Tas, Kindergarten in NSW, Reception in SA, Transition in NT/ACT and Pre-Primary in WA).
- Not have an active nbn® network internet service at home. (Having a mobile internet service does not affect eligibility.)
- Live in a premises that can access the nbn network via an existing connection or standard installation.
- Not have had an active nbn connection during the previous 14 days.
What Happens at the end of 12 months?
In the event the SSBI program is not extended past the initial 12 months, you will have the option of taking up one of Activ8me’s plans or cancel your service.
Who will contact me at the end of 12 months?
Prior to reaching the end of the 12-month program, Activ8me will contact you to discuss your options. Rest assured, Activ8me will NOT start charging you for your service after the free 12-month service has concluded without your consent.
When Does this Offer Expire?
The offer is valid until 31 December 2024, unless the initiative is extended longer.
