The wait for fast internet in parts of the Bellarine Peninsula is over next week as the National Broadband Network (nbn®) goes live on 16th of December 2016 with Fibre to the Node (FTTN) internet. Queenscliff and Point Londsdale residents will be able to connect to FTTN services and experience fast, affordable nbnTM internet. Neighbouring towns Lorne, Apollo Bay and Marengo will be switched on in mid-December and Leopold early in the new year.
Fibre to the Node technology from the nbn® utilises the existing copper network for a fixed line service and homes are connected from a nearby FTTN cabinet in the street. nbn® FTTN internet service is available through official nbn® Retail Service Providers (RSP) like Activ8me.
Activ8me CEO, Tony Bundrock acknowledged the increasing number of regional areas that will soon be able to connect to the nbn® FTTN service.
“Fast nbn Internet services are being rolled out across regional Australia. These services open up new possibilities such as streaming, gaming and video calls for residents and cloud-based services for businesses.”
