Communities in significant parts of the Loddon Mallee region can enjoy business, health, and education benefits in the near future as high speed broadband will soon become accessible to them through the efforts of the National Broadband Network (NBN),  iBendigo Loddon Mallee Chairman Bruce Winzar said yesterday.

NBN Co’s announcement of fixed wireless Internet coming soon to Mildura, Swan Hill, Campaspe, Loddon, and Gannawarra Shires was well-received by the chairman who says NBN is currently in talks with five local government areas across the Loddon Mallee region to get started on the fixed wireless rollouts.

NBN Co will work very closely with these communities and will consult with the local councils regarding the network design, rollout, number, and location of the fixed wireless facilities.

“The fixed wireless service will offer telephone and internet service providers wholesale speeds of up to 25 megabits per second download and five megabits per second upload,” NBN Co issued in a statement.
