Tailem Bend residents were elated to actually experience fast Internet via the nbn® Sky Muster® Satellite that was recently showcased in the area. This Long-term Satellite Service (LSS) has replaced the Interim Satellite Service (ISS). Activ8me participated in the information session organised by GrainGrowers Ltd and the National Broadband Network last 18th of July at Riverside Hotel.
The latest satellite Internet technology is already operational and being demonstrated through a national roadshow. A truck equipped with a satellite dish and connected to the nbn® Sky Muster® Satellite visited the town for a public demo. The locals had the chance to try out and experience fast and reliable Internet access using large touchscreens. They also learned about the various broadband connection options available for their households.
David Evans, SA Regional Coordinator at GrainGrowers Ltd, said: “People in regional areas, we’re all being driven to conducting our business online, as long as your online service has the capacity. Farmers could do a lot more if they had better speed and connectivity,” as quoted in The Murray Valley Standard.
