15 December 2014

In the next 18 months, it is estimated that 16,000 households in Riverland and Murraylands in South Australia will be connected to the National Broadband Network (NBN).
Work begins this month as NBN Co aims to connect Renmark, Berri, Loxton, and other towns to fixed fibre lines.
Numerous smaller towns all over the region are also targeted for the construction of wireless towers.
Joe Dennis, NBN Co spokesperson, said high-speed broadband internet access will be improved.
According to him, this will result in better opportunities in the fields of e-commerce, distance education, work from home, and even day-to-day tasks.
Construction, which is set to begin this month, is projected for completion in 18 months’ time.
From bigger towns such as Renmark, fixed line work is set to go all the way through to Murray in Berri and Loxton, as well as to smaller communities like Tailem Bend and Meningie, mr. Dennis said.
