nbn® Releases Rollout List for Every Property

27 February 2017

The National Broadband Network (nbn®) has released it’s complete roll-out plan for connections, meaning every Australian can now use Activ8me’s address checker to discover an estimated connection date for their property.
If your connection date is later than 2018 (all premises are expected to be connected by 2020), you will be told an estimated window of 6 months. As the dates approach, the expected connection date will be defined more accurately.
This new update from the nbn® will also provide information about what technology each area can expect to be connected to — fibre, satellite or wireless.
Roughly half of all Australians will be connected to Fibre To The Node (FTTN) technology, another 40% split equally between other fibre connections and HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxil).
The final homes, many in rural and regional Australia, will be connected to the Sky Muster® satellite technology.
The nbn® have clarified that their new rollout plan is not set in stone – dates may still be pulled forward or pushed back, and there’s a chance technologies may be further developed, allowing areas to connect to a different form of the network.
The full rollout plan has been released to quell the demand and curiosity of those who had no knowledge of what to expect for their area, or when to expect it.
The nbn® remain on track to complete their milestone of having 50 per cent of Australian premises eligible to connect to the network by June 2017.
To check what your property’s future connection may be, and when it’s set to go live, try out our Activ8me address checker or rollout map, then give us a call on 13 22 88 to get connected to the nbn
