ACCC data report

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has published its quarterly nbn® Wholesale Market Indicators Report for December 2016. Activ8me have been named as the largest satellite provider.

The nbn® now has over 2.9 million services in operation across Australia as wholesale access. Fibre-to-the-Premise, considered as the pioneer service of the nbn®, accounts for 1.7 million active premises.
In the report, subscriptions to the Interim Satellite Service (ISS) continue to decline with the introduction of the Sky Muster® Satellite Service in the first quarter of 2016.
The Sky Muster® satellite accounts for over 68,000 active services with the speed tiers of 12/1 and 25/5 proving popular. This is the first time that satellite has appeared in the ACCC’s nbn® access report.
Also appearing for the first time in the ACCC report is the nbn®’s new fixed line service, the Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC). HFC marks its first figures report with over 28,000 premises as early adopters that opted to the speed tiers of 12/1 and 25/5 as its class leaders.
