Clarence Valley residents and business owners will be benefiting from the Sky Muster service of NBN beginning second quarter of this year.
Kevin Hogan, Federal Member for Page, talks about the increased capacity promised of the service and said that it would make a huge difference for a lot of the families living in the region. He also said that it was going to be even more efficient than originally expected.
Covering premises with NBN technology and greater use of the second purpose built broadband satellite scheduled for launch this year are the combination that made the increase in capacity possible.
In October last year, it was announced that nbn^® fixed line and wireless would be rolled out across Northern Rivers beginning 2017 to 2018. The goal was to have the entire country connected by 2020.
Mr. Hogan said the launch of the Sky Muster satellite will pave the way for connecting Northern Rivers to superfast broadband before the rest of the country.
According to him, it means residents and business owners there will be able to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the NBN before the rest of the country gets the chance to do so through Sky Muster plans.
As per nbn, the second satellite will play a greater role than originally planned.
What will happen is NBN will make use of the unallocated capacity of this satellite to help make sure regional Australians will have access to the best possible service the NBN can deliver.
The company said it will likewise implement a fair use policy to help protect the quality of service end users will receive – all while offering generous wholesale data allowances.
