Emergency Calls – 000

March 12, 2021 4:15 pm

Can I call 000 emergency services using VoIP?

Yes, you can call 000 emergency services using an active Activ8me VoIP service. You cannot call 000 emergency services from a disconnected or suspended Activ8me VoIP service.

However, it is recommended that you have another landline or mobile service available if you must make an emergency call.

Activ8me accepts no responsibility for you not being able to make or receive emergency calls while your service is unavailable.

It is recommended that emergency calls are made from your primary landline, due to landline services being more stable in comparison.

For example, your landline service is not likely to be susceptible to service disruption and doesn’t require your internet connection being active to make or receive calls.

If the power is out, your VoIP service will fail to work.

It is recommended that you have a non–powered telephone handset at your residence to make emergency calls with in the event of a blackout.

When should I call 000 emergency services?

By calling 000, you can receive assistance from your States’ Police, Fire and/or Ambulance services. Please note, Emergency Services 000 should only be used when seeking a response to a life threatening and/or critical situation.

Refer to www.triplezero.gov.au for more information on the circumstances under which a person should make a call to 000.
