Say Cheese For Satellite Broadband

For many years in Salamander Bay, luck and which side of the road you were situated on determined whether your business or household could access high speed broadband.
Adrian Glover, the owner of a photo processing centre, has tried in vain to obtain a comparable service to the business located next to his in the local shopping strip.
“It has been a huge mission and so frustrating knowing the shop next door was running fast ADSL,” said Mr Glover.
“I kept saying to the telecommunications company, how come my neighbour can get it and I can’t,” he said.
“I was given so many reasons, I have heard them all.
“Apparently it is either because of line sharing, or I am too far from the exchange, or the ADSL port from the exchange was not big enough. None of this reasoning gave me much comfort,” he said.
Recently Mr Glover read about the availability of satellite broadband to homes or businesses that are unable to access metro comparable broadband.
“Through my enquiries I found Activ8me, the largest provider of satellite broadband in Australia,” he said.
The new satellite service has enabled Mr Glover to expand his business by running an extra 20 computers through a wide area network and installing new processing machines.
“It was imperative that I kept up with the industry and had the technology to continue to offer a premium service,” says Mr Glover.
Tony Bundrock, the CEO of Activ8me, says Salamander Bay is typical of coastal towns experiencing rapid growth and who have outgrown their exchanges.
“Satellite can solve broadband issues for many other businesses and households in the area,” he says.
“If you’re still on dial-up or dissatisfied with your current broadband connection, I’d advise you to look into the satellite service,” he says.
“Delivering broadband is a complex service but Activ8me’s experience in rural and regional Australia enables us to sort out problems for those experiencing connection issues in known trouble spots,” says Mr Bundrock.
