More Productivity In Jeans

GOOGLE’s staff and management believe their relaxed workplace where staff are encouraged to wear t-shirts and thongs and play video games makes them more productive. Here at Activ8me our management and employees share the same mentality. That’s not to say our staff are playing video games all day while our customers wait in call queues.

We take a very laid back approach to business attire and our staff turn up each day dressed how they feel comfortable; Although a recent crackdown on Occupational Health and Safety has banned thongs (the footwear not the underwear). Most staff happily dress in jeans and a t-shirt as it is more comfortable and they feel it is better suited for a place where so much of their time is spent. As the old analogy says “Happy Wife, Happy Life” the same can be applied to our employees and management.

According to experts, dress codes greatly influence workplace culture, productivity and moral. It is also symbolic of a company’s attitude to management of its employees, some may say it’s a sign of respect and trust. Some of the biggest companies in the world share this managerial mentality including Apple and Nike proving formal dress does not always mean success.

Since Activ8me has embraced casual work wear employees have said the office is more open and friendly which has also been mentioned by visitors who often comment on how up and about our employees are. It’s not just an attitude change either, staff say they feel more welcome to voice their concerns to management as an open door policy has always been one thing Activ8me management constantly enforce.

One workplace in Sydney we have heard about email its workforce on a regular basis reminding them of what is considered an appropriate dress code for the work environment (sometimes even emailing pictures of what is acceptable).

Here at Activ8me we cannot imagine being held to these strict rules of acceptable corporate attire and is why a pair of jeans and a t-shirt is will always be welcome inside our office walls.
